Designed to help individuals with serious physical or mental disabilities, the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) is a key social assistance initiative of the Canadian province of Ontario. It is presented as a program of “last resort” for individuals who are unable to support themselves financially and cannot find adequate assistance through the Canada Pension Plan Disability benefit or the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
In addition to providing dental coverage and other health benefits, the ODSP offers supplemental income to help people with disabilities pay rent and meet essential living expenses.
